Vows That Wow – Sophia & Michael
A Wedding Day Designed to Feel Like Them
Sophia and Michael’s celebration brought a fresh, colorful take on garden-party romance. Shades of soft blue carried throughout the day, from the bridesmaids’ individually styled dresses to the reception linens, while arrangements of pink, peach, blue and white blooms brought in an organic, collected feel. Citrus centerpieces added an unexpected pop of orange and yellow, creating a reception design that felt playful without losing its elegance.
Helping bring all of those moving pieces together was Shonni Signature Weddings. Sophia shared just how valuable having Shonni by her side was throughout the process, especially when it came time to turn months of planning into one seamless celebration.
“Shonni was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, especially when it came to bringing everything together and making sure the day ran smoothly,” Sophia shared.
The result was a day layered with personality, from pearl-trimmed menus and tasseled place details to striped table numbers, candlelight and statement florals.
Sentimental Moments Before “I Do”
Some of Sophia’s most meaningful memories happened before she ever walked down the aisle. While getting ready, she wore her mother’s wedding dress, but with an incredibly special twist. Her mom had the gown custom redesigned into a robe for Sophia to wear on her own wedding morning, allowing a piece of one generation’s wedding day to become part of the next.
The trip to the venue became another memory in itself. Siesta Trolley transported Sophia and her bridesmaids to Marie Selby Botanical Gardens, giving the group one last stretch of time together before the ceremony began.
“Riding the trolley to Marie Selby Gardens with all of my bridesmaids, the excitement, anticipation, and getting to share that moment with my best friends before arriving at the venue, is something I’ll never forget,” Sophia said.
Five Minutes Just for the Newlyweds
Amid a wedding day filled with family, friends and celebration, Sophia and Michael intentionally planned something remarkably simple: five minutes alone.
Immediately after their ceremony, the newlyweds stepped away together to take in what had just happened before joining the rest of the celebration. For Sophia, those quiet minutes became her favorite memory of the entire day.
“My favorite was the five minutes my husband and I intentionally blocked off right after the ceremony to be alone, take it all in, and soak up the fact that we were officially married,” she shared. “It was such a special little moment in the middle of such a big day.”
It also perfectly reflects the biggest lesson Sophia took away from planning: the wedding does not have to be perfect to be unforgettable. She encourages other couples to release the little details once the day arrives and focus instead on the people, the moments and the feeling of finally being married.
A Celebration Worth Remembering
As the sun went down, the garden-inspired celebration transitioned into a night centered on having fun with the people Sophia and Michael love most. Guests were welcomed into a reception filled with soft blue tablescapes, glowing candles and lamps, colorful florals and whimsical citrus arrangements beneath sparkling chandeliers.
White Tie Modern added another interactive element to the evening with a photo booth, giving guests a fun way to capture their own memories from the celebration. From the carefully designed reception to Sophia’s sparkling second look and the newlyweds making their entrance hand in hand, the evening felt like a true celebration of everything that had brought them to this moment.
For Sophia, that is ultimately what mattered most. “At the end of the day, the things I remember most are the moments, the people, and how happy I felt,” she shared. “Once the wedding day arrives, stop worrying about the planning and be present. It goes by incredibly fast!”
